Those Embers Fiery

Perhaps one day, ‘though the fire has died out, those embers fiery will yet still speak of that rare moment in history where love and love herself spoke from her giddy throne, and commanded two lovers to feel bliss eternal, for an instant. And though the dance did not last, as I had hoped it would, and dreamed and cursed that it should, yet have I learnt to be a lover greater even so.

There, in ecstacy, above the fold of space or time, when my heart and my mind, by divine sign, met yours in bliss and peace entwin’d — when the whole earth contracted to that point where nothing but you and me existed, there was truth and beauty found. And ever since I have been a wanderer, and a seeker; and ever still shall I be until we meet again, in this life or the next.
